Doctoral researchers, postdoctoral scholars and PhD candidates from the Visegrad countries can apply for the Visegrad–Taiwan Scholarships from 1 August until 30 September 2026. The programme supports study and research stays at selected higher-education institutions in Taiwan and is implemented in cooperation with Taiwan's National Science and Technology Council (NSTC).
Applicants can find detailed eligibility criteria, the list of host institutions and application guidelines on the Visegrad–Taiwan Scholarships application page.
Successful applicants can receive support for 1 to 10 months in a wide range of disciplines, including quantum technology, artificial intelligence and robotics, information technology, cybersecurity, social sciences and humanities, as well as other research fields.
The scholarship provides €1,000 per month to cover living expenses, along with a one-time travel grant of €1,000. Tuition fees and other research-related costs are covered by the Taiwanese host institution.
The Visegrad–Taiwan Scholarship Programme promotes academic mobility between the Visegrad region and Taiwan by enabling doctoral and postdoctoral researchers from Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia to gain valuable international research experience and establish new academic partnerships.
