Youth Fashion – Values & Dialogue in the V4
High school students from Poland and Czechia explored together creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage through hands-on fashion and design activities.
In Poland students designed costumes that blended traditional elements with modern styles, while also discovering the region’s textile heritage through engaging museum visits. Sewing and crochet workshops encouraged them to experiment with fabrics, colors, and techniques, combining respect for history with fresh, youthful creativity.
The second part of the project took place in Czechia, where the focus shifted to shoe design and production. Students attended creative workshops, visited the famous Baťa Shoe Museum, and learned about the processes behind footwear making. This experience highlighted both the artistic and industrial aspects of fashion design.
Beyond fashion, participants also immersed themselves in other creative crafts, such as making copper jewelry and crocheted slippers, which further strengthened their practical skills and appreciation for handmade artistry.
The journey culminated in a fashion show, where they proudly presented the costumes and designs they had created together.
“This project wasn’t just about clothes or shoes—it was about discovering ourselves. Students learned to value tradition, to innovate, and to believe in their own creative potential. Many left inspired to pursue artistic professions in the future,” confirmes Petra Kocendová, Project Coordinator.
